Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Anesthesiologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi.   Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. 

Jacobi Medical Center has earned numerous Center of Excellence designations, accreditation, and recognition for its renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, Burn Center, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, regional Stroke Center, Snakebite Treatment Center, Breast Health Center, Bariatric Surgery Center, and Cancer Service. The facility also offers the region’s only multi-person hyperbaric chamber, allowing up to nine patients to dive together at one time.  The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with  Albert Einstein College of Medicine to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details:

  • Determines and prescribes kinds of anesthetics and procedures to be employed in various categories of cases.
  • Advises Anesthetists and Surgeons in cases where age or condition of patient presents unusual or complex problems.
  • Recommends suitable anesthesia, advises on dosages, and consults on post-operative complications.
  • Reviews case histories and is responsible for all matters pertaining to Anesthesiology.
  • Attends clinical conferences. 
  • 40 hour work week with no embeded call.
  • Ability to make added compensation by taking call or additional sessional hours.

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Anesthesia.
  • A license to practice Medicine in the State of New York.
  • Experience in block placement in upper and lower extremities preferred, but not required.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $409,000* (board eligible) ; $419,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated between $588,000** (board eligible) and $598,000** (board certified) which includes the baseline salary, fringe benefits, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits)
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you
