The Manager of the Environmental Services Branch oversees the management of the Environmental Assessments and Permitting Section, CEQA and NEPA Support Section, and the Bryte Chemical Laboratory. As a matrixed, multi-disciplinary environmental team, the Environmental Services Branch provides comprehensive and specialized environmental regulatory compliance services to support the Department’s wide range of activities. Responsible for a broad range of environmental services programs and science activities that are of critical importance to the Department of Water Resources (DWR) programs, the State Water Project (SWP), and other department-wide programs. Provide advice and assistance to executive management within DWR and to other entities, such as Delta Conveyance and the California EcoRestore. Manage DWR's environmental compliance, documentation, and permitting requirements and develop and implement California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) policies and procedures. Formulate and implement environmental policy and procedures.

Possess a broad knowledge, understanding, and experience in environmental regulatory compliance, site assessments, documentation, and permitting; State and federal Endangered Species acts; and specific expertise in CEQA and NEPA policies and procedures. Ability to work with diverse agencies and stakeholder groups, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and possess outstanding collaborative and problem-solving skills.
