For over 16 years, it has been a beloved neighborhood restaurant and a pioneer in elevating Greek dining in the North Shore. Now, as we undergo an exciting remodel and reimagine our space and offerings, we’re seeking an Executive Chef to help shape the next chapter of Avli Winnetka’s story.

The Role:
We’re seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Chef to lead the kitchen with creativity, precision, and heart. The ideal candidate is a confident and skilled Chef, and also a dedicated mentor who thrives on building strong, collaborative teams. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of Avli Winnetka at an exciting moment in its evolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
• Collaborate on menu development that reflects the spirit of modern Greek cuisine with room for creativity
• Hire, train, and mentor kitchen staff, creating a culture of professionalism, growth, and mutual respect
• Manage kitchen costs, inventory, and labor efficiency in collaboration with ownership
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Be an integral part of the leadership team, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• 5+ years of experience in a leadership culinary role, preferably as Executive Chef or Chef De Cuisine, or like position
• Deep knowledge of Mediterranean/Greek cuisine or a willingness to immerse oneself in it
• Strong leadership and communication skills 
• Passion and commitment to developing a strong culture of teamwork
• Proven ability to manage costs, streamline operations, and execute consistently in a high-paced environment
• A balance of creativity, discipline, and collaboration
• A desire to be part of a dynamic and evolving concept
