Title: Executive Director, Business Development and Integration

Location: Upper East Side

Salary Range: $236,400.00 - $273,800.00

Position Summary

The Executive Director oversees large scale projects such as NYP-WCM sphere integration (including development of a centralized off-site laboratory), Anatomic Pathology business expansion, clinical implementation of cutting-edge research and experimental technologies (including multiplex immunofluorescent assays and artificial intelligence analyses), and the Diagnostic and Predictive Medicine/Early Cancer Detection Initiative with Radiology that is in development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and monitor Anatomic Pathologic billing practices across the NYP/WCM sphere to ensure optimal reimbursement/revenue streams and resource utilization.
  • Ensure successful implementation of subspecialty sign out across the NYP/WCM sphere and integration of faculty operations through critical cross-campus communication and leadership.
  • Continual analysis and improvement of faculty and laboratory practices across NYP/WCM sphere hospitals to boost performance metrics, reduce waste, and optimize efficiency.
  • Provide detailed cost-benefit and feasibility analyses regarding establishment of Anatomic Pathology as an independent Article 28 entity (akin to WCINYP model) to allow for recovery of technical charges currently lost by NYP.
  • Coordination and management of the Diagnostic and Predictive Medicine/Early Cancer Detection initiative in collaboration with the Department of Radiology.
  • Lead and support the strategic integration of cutting-edge translational research methodologies to clinical practice to improve patient care at NYP and ensure NYP's continued recognition as an international leader in healthcare and enhance revenue.
  • Provide a comprehensive analysis and strategic plan for an off-site centralized diagnostic pathology laboratory for the NYP/WCM hospitals to optimized efficiency, labor deployment, and space utilization.
  • Collaborate with CIO/CMIO and System Vice President Laboratory Operations and Clinical Systems to optimize clinician/customer experience with laboratory test ordering and resulting.
  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee Anatomic Pathology business plans for continued growth.
  • Implement centralized laboratory operations and develop a novel financial/billing model to optimize both professional and technical charge receipts.
Education

  • Master's Degree in areas of business and strategy in healthcare
Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare finance, laboratory integration, clinical revenue growth, and practice model innovation.
  • Experience in and knowledge of academic laboratory management preferred.
  • Experience negotiating contracts
