Job Title: Student Success Coach – 12 Months-Grant
Work Schedule: Full Time
Salary Range: Instructor Rank – $48,000 to $63,142
Assistant Professor Rank $49,637 to $67,448
(Must meet academic preparation, and/or equated experience, or doctorate degree to be hired at the Assistant Professor rank.)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position contingent upon Perkins grant funding.
Summary
The Success Coach works in a proactive manner, reaching out to conduct conversations with credit, non-credit, and workforce students to assess goals, progress, and strategies needed to enhance their success. The Coach assists the student in identifying next step strategies and enlists success partners including Financial Aid, Academic Advisors, Career Development, Educational Support Services, Student Life, Counselors, Community Resources, faculty and others. The Coach makes direct referral to these professionals for the specific expertise/assistance needed to strengthen persistence, resilience, academic progress, academic and career planning, goal achievement, self-management, and negotiation of life challenges related to work, family, and college. The Coach, carefully and continuously, assesses each student’s needs and monitors their progress. The Coach actively engages the student in their success planning, enlists assistance, follows-up to learn the outcomes of all referrals, and continues working with the student in this manner to support degree completion and preparation for achieving their career/ transfer goals. Position reports directly to the Dean of Academic Support and Success. Some evening/weekend hours and/or travel to other college and community sites required.
