If so, we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as ISS Monitors at St. Francis Indian School AKA Sicangu Oyate Ho Inc. in St. Francis SD.

Job Description:

As an ISS Monitor, you will be responsible for supervising students in the In-School Suspension (ISS) program. You will work closely with teachers and administrators to ensure that students adhere to school rules and regulations while providing a supportive and encouraging environment for them to reflect on their behavior and work towards positive change.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a firm but compassionate approach to managing student behavior, and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds. Previous experience working with youth or in a school setting is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise students in the ISS program and ensure compliance with school rules
• Provide guidance and support to students to help them reflect on their behavior
• Create a positive and respectful learning environment for students in ISS
• Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student progress
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behavior in ISS

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with youth or in a school setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage student behavior in a firm but compassionate manner
• Knowledge of restorative justice practices is a plus
