Summary

The Manager, Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of DSV's transportation and logistics division, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position will be responsible for managing staff, developing, and implementing operational policies and procedures, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the transportation and logistics division, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and maintain operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to ensure that all team members are working effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, including productivity, cost, and quality, and develop plans to improve performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and vendors, ensuring that all parties are informed and satisfied with the services provided.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including sales and customer service, to ensure that all aspects of the business are aligned and working together effectively.
  • Continuously searches for ways to improve operational processes, define structure and increase productivity.

Educational background / Work experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in transportation brokerage, or third-party logistics field with comprehensive knowledge of LTL, Truck Load, and current trucking marketplace.
  • 5 years’ experience in management or similar role.
  • College degree or experience in lieu of education.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational issues and challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation and logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in using transportation management software, such as TMS or WMS.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and methodologies is a plus.

Language skills

  • Fluency in English (oral and written).

Computer Literacy

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with transportation management software.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $93,500 - $141,000/ Annual .  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
