Position Title: Police Officer
Salary Information: $67,132.16 annually
Benefits:
Two raises per year, including annual step increases and cost of living adjustments.
Vacation: 43 hours after 6 months, 86 hours after 1 year of service.
Sick Leave: 60 hours annually.
Unlimited accumulation of compensatory time up to 120 hours.
BCBS Insurance.
Twelve-hour shifts, with three-day weekends every other weekend.
The Round Lake Park Police Pension Fund is well-funded and accepts transfers of other pensions into the fund, including Article 3 (Downstate), Article 5 (Chicago), Article 7 (IMRF), and Article 15 (SURS), in accordance with Illinois pension transfer rules/laws. Transferred pension funds will be used to determine an officer's pensionable service time.
Application Process:
Complete the Public Safety Self-Assessment (PSSA) and Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) to be considered for the position. A candidate must have a weighted score of 70% to be eligible.

Necessary Certifications: Must have a valid and current POWER test card dated no more than nine (9) months prior to the interview date.
Additional Requirements: Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony or any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, as specified in §5/10-2.10-6 of the Board of Police Commissioners Act.
Hiring Process:

Oral interviews will be scheduled for November 2, 2024, for all qualified and eligible candidates. Candidates will be contacted via email with interview details.

Ineligibility:
Applicants who have previously applied for the position of police officer with Round Lake Park and did not successfully complete the background or psychological examination, or who made admissions of criminal conduct during the polygraph examination that would preclude them from consideration, will be ineligible to re-apply for a period of four years from the date of written notification.
