Sales Director/Executive/SVP of Sales – Mechanical Equipment (Valves, Actuators, and Modifications)

Industry Focus: Data Center Cooling, Storage, Infrastructure, Facility Systems, and Construction. 

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Sales Director to drive growth in the data center cooling and infrastructure market by promoting and selling valves, actuators, components, widgets, and other mechanical equipment. This role will focus on expanding relationships with data center operators, engineering contractors, consulting engineers, and design institutes to position our solutions as integral components of data center thermal management and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate has a strong technical sales background, experience in mission-critical environments, and a proven ability to drive revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Execute Sales Strategies: Lead sales efforts for valves, fluid control components, heat exchangers, and other mechanical solutions in data center cooling and infrastructure applications.
  • Build & Maintain Customer Relationships: Engage with Data Center project owners, operators, engineering firms, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.
  • Support Business Development & Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, working with global sales teams to increase market share and drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Value-Added Selling & Consultative Approach: Position our solutions as essential to efficient cooling, heat management, and facility infrastructure while integrating third-party components to provide comprehensive solutions.
  • Technical Expertise & Customer Education: Conduct training sessions and provide guidance on data center cooling requirements, mechanical system regulations, and industry standards to internal teams and clients.
  • Industry Engagement & Brand Positioning: Represent the company at trade shows, customer meetings, webinars, and industry conferences to build brand awareness and credibility.
  • Partnership Development: Work with engineering firms, contractors, and technology partners to drive collaboration and expand market opportunities.
  • Sales Support & Training: Develop customized presentations, sales materials, and training programs to equip sales teams with the knowledge and tools necessary for success.
  • Monitor Industry Trends & Competitive Landscape: Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry regulations, and competitor offerings to adjust sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in technical sales, business development, or account management within the data center, HVAC, cooling, or industrial mechanical systems industry.
  • Strong understanding of data center thermal management, cooling infrastructure, and compliance standards.
  • Proven track record of developing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and closing high-value deals.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers and navigate complex sales processes in mission-critical environments.
  • Willingness to travel to engage with clients and support global sales initiatives.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics platforms.
  • Must have authorization to work in the USA; ability to travel up to 50% of the year.
