This position may require development and teaching of courses online.

The maternal child health nursing faculty position encompasses classroom and clinical teaching for junior level students in the maternal-child health course. Instructional delivery can occur through on-line, in-person, and blended instructional methods on the main campus or at off-site educational locations. Voluntary summer/winter contracts may be available.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service, and show potential for a productive research/scholarship program. Professional development support is available to support ongoing research and to obtain a doctoral degree.

The successful candidate will need to complete distance education training programs as made available by the University within two years of hire for the purpose of teaching in a multi-campus environment with remote teaching needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, plus fifteen semester hours of graduate credit; with at least three years of teaching experience.

OR

Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing with an earned Master of Science in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution, plus ten hours of graduate credit, at least four years of teaching, and a commitment to achieve doctoral degree prior to tenure decision. Strong academic background and clinical expertise in the area of child health/pediatric nursing practice is required. Active and unhindered PA RN License through the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing is required. Eligibility for PA RN licensure is required if a current PA license is not held.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing with an earned doctorate in Nursing or related field and experience teaching child health nursing courses and clinical preferred. Scholarly activity in the form of research or professional service preferred. Strong academic background and clinical expertise in the area of child health/pediatric nursing practice is required. Successful demonstration of work with diverse populations preferred.
