The Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (WOGCC) is seeking a Natural Resources Program Principal to lead critical statewide programs that monitor and regulate water quality, spill reporting, pit treatment and closures, and more. This role plays a vital part in safeguarding our environment and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while working closely with industry operators and field inspection staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
Oversee the Baseline Water Quality (BWQ) Program : Manage and monitor water quality across oil and gas development sites.
Manage the Spill Reporting Program : Track and coordinate response to spills, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
Lead the Trade Secret Program : Protect confidential business information while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Supervise the Pit Treatment and Closure Program : Oversee the safe treatment and closure of pits related to oil and gas operations.
Track Idle Wells and Bonding : Monitor idle wells, communicate with operators, and provide bonding recommendations to ensure financial accountability.
Process Road Spread Applications : Collaborate with the field inspection team to review, approve, and monitor road-spreading activities.
Monitor Flaring Compliance : Process flaring requests, make recommendations, and track compliance with flaring regulations.
Provide Technical Assistance : Offer expertise to internal staff, particularly in analyzing environmental data and ensuring quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) standards are met.
PREFERENCES:
Bachelor's Degree in science field and 2-5 years progressive work experience in regulatory work, environmental consulting, chemistry, or chemical engineering.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in The Sciences)
Experience:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in The Sciences) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Natural Resources Analyst
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in The Sciences) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Natural Resources Analyst

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is an office position located in Casper. Minimal travel may be required.
